Ford Thunderbird.
The Ford Thunderbird is a rear wheel drive automobile which was manufactured by Ford in the United States, over eleven model generations from 1955 through 2005. The Thunderbird created a market niche that eventually became known as the personal luxury car.
Ford Thunderbirds, otherwise known as the T-Bird were produced in a number of body configurations during its productive years. This range included four seat hardtop coupe, four seat convertible, four door pillared hardtop sedan, six passenger hardtop coupe, a five passenger pillared coupe and the two seat convertible.
The first 1955 model was a sporty two seat convertible, but unlike the Chevrolet Corvette it was not marked as a sports car. It was produced as a personal luxury car in 1958 and through ensuing years, the Thunderbird became larger until the downsizing process began in 1977.
They experienced good success until the 1990’2 when 2 door coupes were no longer in high demand. Reproduction began in 2002 with a revived 2 -seat model. Until the final phaseout in 2005, Ford produced over 4. 4 million Thunderbirds.
