Whoever gives iftar fasting for the one who fasts on the moon then for him the forgiveness of his sins and is freed from the fires of hell, and for him the reward of fasting like a fasting person and without reducing the reward of the fasting person. When hearing that, the Companions said: O Messenger of Allah, not all of us have something to feed the fasting person, then the Messenger of Allah said: This reward is given by God to the one who feeds the fasting man with a date or a sip of water or milk.
