Talking about Mayonise reminds me of one story that happened to about three years ago. It happened in Tenom, Sabah where she attended the Indigenous People celebration or PHOAS. Our team was assigned to do an exhibition that day, so our workshop was closed and all our team members came to participate with the activities. The celebration was held at an area that was far from the town. Knowing this,
prepared Egg Mayonise sandwiches for the team to eat. As expected, one of our team member, Louis was hungry and asked for food. She gave Louis the sandwich with the expectation that he will like it. Louis took a bite of the sandwich, then he looked at her with weird face and said,
"Nounos gia tii...onsoom noh kopioh" (means "This sandwich is rotten..it taste so sour").
looked at him speechless. She just made the Sandwich that morning, she even tasted it and it was delicious. She tasted it again to make sure whether it was really rotten as Louis claimed, and it was fine. She told Louis that its not rotten and thats how the sandwich taste. Louis just looked at her and said "Ohh".
Later, after Louis went away, felt so discourage when somebody say her sandwich is not good. She told one of her friend, Rick who happened to eat the sandwich too. Rick told her, "Kila, not all village people have ever tasted a Mayonise before". Innocent
was like "Whaaat!"
