NBR chairman Md Nurul Islam said that the proposed proposal to impose VAT at 5 percent of the online product or service market has been made in the new fiscal year. Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan He said this at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka on Friday afternoon.
He said, "We started the process of assigning tax on virtual businesses like YouTube, Facebook, but we have differentiated online business, we did not put VAT on it."
When presently the journalists presented the proposal of imposing 5 percent VAT on online shopping in the finance minister's budget speech, the NBR chairman said, "Printing may be wrong."
