Nutritionists from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia said drinking enough water can prevent the risk of obesity. In addition, adequate water intake also prevents several other diseases such as kidney stones, chronic kidney, and urinary tract infections.
The Chair of the FKUI Department of Nutrition Dr. Nurul Ratna Mutu Manikam, M.Gizi, Sp.GK said drinking enough water can reduce appetite and increase the expenditure of more calories. Nurul said drinking water before meals can make the stomach fill faster so it does not overeat.
He also mentions that only drinking ordinary mineral water without the need to add fruit pieces or enough infused waters. Nurul explains that infused water does not provide many vitamins from fruit and only has a refreshing effect.

However, one must also look at the number of calories that enter and have more physical activity. Nurul explained that there is no need to worry about urinating more when you drink more water. This can avoid the risk of kidney disease and urinary tract infections.
