There are currently several steemit apps that in development, many of which I do not know about. What i appreciate already are

Hive account@zappl can become. @Busyis not out of the picture and @Steemit will continue to evolve. Strictly from a social media standpoint, steem will continue to be the "Go To" destination for new comers to learn, and for invested developers and digital coins aficionados to share ideas. I'm not even touching on the relationship between bitshares and eos. The potential for growth in the coding community is another exciting aspect as intelligent developers.
