ConsenSys announced that they've started a "DeFi focused compliance service" which means that all of our privacy at risk here.
Privacy is a right. Surveillance is a breach of that.
Unfortunately, Ethereum does not offer any help. Maybe you've heard about Tornado.cash, which can help a little, but there is still a chance of being de-anonymized, plus horrendous GAS fees on top.
The best progress at this point is either
Exchange > XMR (deposit) > XMR (withdrawal) > InstantEX > fresh Ethereum
or
Exchange > ETH(tainted) > IncognitoChain Shielding (optional: trade Incognito DEX) > Incognito withdrawal > ETH
You'll pay fees too, but in the end it's not more than if you'd use Tornado and the smartcontract fees.
The Future
WIP. Stay tuned for updates.

Looks like there is a tool in development to help privacy on Ethereum!
Also HOPR:
Privacy on Ethereum is not as easy as it may seem, even with @TornadoCash

Your dapp usage or gas pricing might leak enough metadata to deanonymize you
But Ethereum also does not provide network-level privacy to protect the origin of your tx. HOPR fixes that.#privacy #ethereum https://t.co/kO3rsLBes2) June 4, 2020
By The Way
Tari - the Monero sidechain SmartContract protocol - has launched in Testnet recently.
Maybe this will fix privacy?
Secure & Anonymous VPN - Uploadfilter? Censorship? Privacy leaks? No Thanks!
