'$34 million, or 11,539 eth, is permanently locked into the AkuDreams contract forever. It cannot be retrieved by individual users or by the dev team.'
Overview - an exploiter discovered an issue with some aspect of refunds. They made an attempt to notify the devs and actually caused the lock up of funds. Emergency withdrawal was then made possible briefly before the remaining huge amount of funds were permanently locked via smart contract, as I've been able to understand, forever and ever.
The need for auditing smart contracts grows more and more with each blast of exploits and techno-financial savagery. The world really needs your help, programmers of Solidity and smart contracts. Loose and easy coding, a culture of speed and rapid deployment leads to incredibly costly releases. That just won't go away easily, will it?
