The crypto landscape is booming these days with more and more projects, and I'm happy to see that it quickly extended from bare fintech to the gaming area (where I see it actually more fit to create disruption). There are quite a few gaming project (some of which I'm closely watching, in silence for now) and some of which are starting to get traction.
Today it was brought to my attention by a new game, called Hash Rush (he is actually the marketing guy for the team, so it kinda make sense). The game is based on real hashing power and it rewards with real crypto tokens, like Ethereum, Ethereum Classic and Monero. It does that by using its own proxy token, though, called RushCoin (RC) for which there is currently an ICO - which will end on October 20th.
The site is a little bit rough around the edges and the gaming visuals are not quite on par with what you see on an EA game, for instance, but the mere fact that the game is developed is something quite interesting.
The gaming industry is already using in-game tokens to reward its users for various activities, so the adoption of crypto in this area should be faster and with less friction.
But, as in any other business, it all boils down, in the end, to execution.
