Number Of Pending Ethereum Transactions Down.
Part 1 of the Metropolis Hard Fork took place on the Ethereum network just the other day, and it seems that it has already had an impressive effect on the number of pending transactions, as you can see here:
The Byzantium Hard fork was only part 1 of the Metropolis update, so it will be interesting to see what happens in the coming weeks/months when part 2 (Constantinople) also comes into effect.
The other added benefit of the Byzantium hard fork appears to be lower transaction fees:
