For most of the time, Europeans have been at war with themselves for no particular reason. Then one day the central Europeans just bombed and gassed way too many people at one time and kind of regretted it.
Then they realised, that instead of using coal to fire steel at each other, they would freely trade coal and steel with each other. This was generally a great idea and led to decades of peace.
Then we got too cocky. We started doing silly things like subsidising farms, and basically just giving landowners free money. Again, using the Euro everywhere is convenient, but the ECB is run like a Ponzi scheme and things keep doubling in price every 15 or so years. I mean like, paying billionaires, even more, billions for counterfeiting billions of Euros is just a mind-boggling scam.
Think of all the bad ideas in the past 2 years that have gotten people killed. Hysteria over the sniffles has crippled the economy, adding an extra 15% carbon tax on most things and being surprised about hyperinflation, and in the middle of a housing crisis, they flood the country with random people. Then there's the whole thing about Germany and Austria for the second time in 80 years, threatening to send their citizens to camps and have special badges.
I hate the EU, I really do. I'm sorry for voting for the Lisbon Treaty, twice. I promise I won't make the mistake of trusting any government ever again.
