A big scandal reaching top positions within the European Parliament is being uncovered the last two days. Five arrests have been made on Friday and many more people are under investigation and are locked outside of their offices in the European Parliament.
An anti-corruption investigation involving the government of Qatar and many European politicians up to one of the 14 European Parliament vice president. The case is being build For several months, investigators from the Federal Judicial Police suspect a Gulf country of influencing the European Parliament’s (EP) economic and political decisions and more specifically the Qatari government was giving European pms money đŸ’° and other gifts in exchange of lobbying and supporting Qatar as a pioneer of workers law and working conditions while there are many reports of hundreds even thousands of deaths of workers building the infrastructures that are now being used in the World Cup !

From i what I remembered that’s the biggest scandal in the European Parliament It unveils the inadequacy of the EU ethics system applicable to its elected as well as the absence of any attempt at governing foreign influence lobbying.
What I am more curious to see is what measures will be taken against Qatar . Qatar is a massive liquefied natural gas producer and Western politicians have been trying to keep the country sweet as they try to find alternative sources of energy amid Russia’s war on Ukraine.
Will Europe take action or will act like business as usual?
