Price vs Value, what's your take on the current cryptocurrency volatility?

Hi everyone!

Andrew (Hive account@andrarchy) and I spoke about the latest price volatility in the crypto markets in this latest podcast and how the concentrated continuous conversation about the prices of tokens distracts from conversations about the value of a token.

What does a particular token allow you to do?

Ideally a token like Koinos KOIN provides you with so much value that you're not concerned about the price in relation to the US dollar at any particular moment because of the various things you can do with it.

HIVE is a great example of a value adding token. It has a price in various currencies to buy and sell, sure...

... but it provides so much more than that.

Value vs Price

Locking up/Staking Hive tokens gives you a voice on the network. The more tokens you have, the more weight that voice holds. You can vote for different developments on the Hive blockchain, you can vote for the various witnesses who run the blockchain but most importantly staking tokens strengthens your brand.

The more you can upvote others, the more attention your own posts get and the more interaction your content gets... and the more you can upvote the more you earn from curation.

Your local currency will probably exist forever... after all, it's accepted everywhere easily in your region, which is super valuable... but will it provide you more value in a year, and so much more value in a decade? Imagine how much development the Koinos network or the Hive network or the Ethereum network will have in a decade from now and how many decisions you'll have to make on how to use those tokens?
