I got Facebook in 2008 to work on my book study projects with the people from a L.A. class. I was in a group with some try hard Students so I tried to keep up with them by joining their study group since I was odd slacker out. Facebook changed the entire dynamic of the scenario and basically brought the library at the school home with us in a way none of us had fully rationalized the use of. This was literally before games or apps, when the news feed was broken and you could see spam. There was people who would spam links to MySpace Nexopia trying to prevent the doom of both those platforms. 
Here we are on Hive though, getting paid to make a more sophisticated and focused version of all these previous experiences into a streamlined social credit network. I thought I would be in China when I tried social credit out for the first time, but it seems more so everyday that opportunity is right here in front of me on Hive.
