I Signed up to become part of this admirable Blockchain social media community some months ago, but then after spending some time trying to understand what I was looking at I went to sleep. And forgot what the network is called where it is or how to access it. Fortunately reminded me :) It often seems to be a feature of open source and decentralised networks that they take work to engage with.
In many ways I guess this is a good thing, it means that more unique communities evolve and it differentiates these networks from the easy-entry corporate platforms.
But then again, the main reason for seeking out decentralised social networks is to get away from Facebook/Meta, and of course without mass-uptake no alternative can ever provide the ‘keeping in touch with people’ function of Facebook etc. (Not that I do keep in touch or use FB / insta anyway it’s the manifestation of evil after all.)
So is that, or should that be, an ambition of Hive? Would people want all their Facebook ‘friends’ to join?
