Our stories are indeed very similar! I think Owen also suffered with depression due to the school environment and bullying at times, but in the UK they won't treat a child with depression. So we have had a very sad little boy for years :( One of the reasons I took him out of school and home schooled him for a while. I am not sure what ABA therapy is, we were told that CBT could help, but they never followed through with any therapy so I am not sure if it would work or not. If you have a diagnosis, I would concentrate on working with the school to get the best support you can. They often don't want to give extra help because it costs them money, but you are entitled to it, so make sure you get it. I am still fighting for this now and have had to get quite threatening to get what he needed, which was just someone to check ono him now and then to make sure he is actually producing work, it isn't a lot to ask imo. After all, once they have a diagnosis, the school gets additional funds towards providing the children with any additional care they need. Good luck and please let me know how you get on! :)
