I had no idea that Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known by his stage name Mohbad, performed some of those well-known songs on the radio.
Even though I don't actively listen to a lot of the songs and sounds that new Nigerian artists are releasing at light speed these days, one must recognize two facts about this situation.
One is that the nation is home to a large number of highly gifted songwriters, singers, producers, and other creatives. And two, even if you aren't into them, you can't help but be familiar with some of these tunes and, occasionally, the artists. They are very commonplace!
The song "KPK" (which I just learned he co-wrote with another musician named Rexie) is similar to what lawyers refer to as a "notorious fact." Although I'm still unsure of the song's subject matter, the musical arrangement makes an impact.
