You may be confused how these things go together but bear with me, it's worth the read.
The sandwich
It's probably nothing special, I'm no master chef and I don't even really know the proper name for this square bun, lunch meat and cheese. I don't have any of the actual packages either, but I can tell you it's all from Costco and supplied by my grandmother!
It's also looks like this isn't a tag anymore, I must be very late to the party... lol.
Here's a breakdown of the ingredients.
So the fact my grandmother supplied the ingredients is kinda the segway here.
See, she's an old Italian lady so her mission in life is to feed you! The moment you step inside her house she's preparing something and doting on you. Heaven forbid you tell her your coming, she'll spend 3 days preparing an 11 course meal for a 30minute visit. So the first thing I do everytime I walk in the door is raid the fridge and start making and sandwich, then she has no opportunity to try and feed you, although she usually does have some fruit cut and baking out of the freezer by the time I finish the sandwich. So she also makes it her mission to buy all these same sandwich ingredients to give them too me every time she goes to Costco.
That's her at the front we also share the favorite colour of green.
It's a joke in the family that she pretty much decides how much she likes someone based on how much you eat. You'll often here her talk about someone boyfriend and say "The Jim, he's a really great guy, he can eat 3 plates at supper"
I see her around once a week these days, I try to visit after my night shifts. She takes care of my sick grandfather at home, and refuses most help that's offered. She also helps out her sister that lives next door who is also unwell.
She's a really strong and stoic woman, with a lot of fight still in her. I don't think they make them like this anymore. She can come off a bit gruff and belligerent at times but it's part of her charm!
Just don't take her out anywhere with wait staff!
