The day has finally arrived when my (not so) little 1/2pint takes his first steps into his new "big" school.
It's both a happy and a sad moment in the household. Happy because he's moving on to the next chapter of his life. The truth is he's outgrown his nursery and is ready for the next challenge. Sad because he's moving on to the next chapter of his life.....
He was a little apprehensive this morning, and even by the way he was last night, we could tell he was a little nervous.
He went for a "taster" session a few weeks back and really enjoyed. Once we were on the way in the car he started to cheer up and couldn't wait to finally get there. We parked up and made our way to the school. Both his mother and me couldn't keep up with him..... He was gone!
That all changed the moment we got to the school gates. He went from being his usual outgoing self to holding both our hands and making up excuses about why he should go.
Well he's there now and I'm just sat here waiting for the phone to go off...... Thankfully, its been 2 hours and i haven't heard a peep from his school.
We've planned a little after school party to celebrate his first day in his new school. Hopefully this is the first of many happy days in school. Plus on a side note, full time education has freed up the fees we had to pay to send him to nursery. This means more £££ to spend on silver!!
