Several weeks ago a child was taken from his mother 90 minutes after he was born, neglect was the reason given but no information was given to the court as to what that meant.
So the family decided to put it before a judge.
The night before court Child services reaches out to the family and says they’ll return the child if one of the grandparents moves in.
They live in a two bedroom apartment but the family agrees because they don’t want to go to court.
So this happens but now the family has to deal with them all living in a small space which leads to conflict and the argument leads to the grandmother phoning child services... who has taken the baby again.
It was a deal doomed to fail from the begging but I don’t blame the family here, they’re in a stressful and desperate situation.
I blame the “birth reporting” the hospital does and the government allows, in which there’s no enforcement of the laws on the books.
You can only take a child if the child is in immediate harm.
The Child services put down neglect... which was in a hospital and couldn’t give a follow up reason; Which means they didn’t have immediate threat as a reason... which means they broke protocol.
The question is why? Does it have anything to do with race? Does it have to do with funding tied to how many kids they remove?
Has to be one of the two.
