Sighs......
I can't help it!
My heart breaks...how most people see"Domestic Violence" as a random topic made a big deal out of by feminists or contemporary noise makers.
Yesterday, I was planning to write about "MARRIAGE" just when I heard a loud scream coming directly from my neighbours room,it was an unusual one. I ran out to see what was going on, I couldn't believe what I saw...WHAT!!! My neighbours wife lying half-dead on the floor with some stab wounds and scratches all over her body.
Everyone was gathered, some police officers, people from other compounds. The victim(wife) was badly injured by her husband, nobody knew what happened or where the husband was at that time, they've been married for 9years with a female child. The poor girl is just 7. She was crying profusely, an elderly woman walked closer to her, tried as much as possible to calm her down, there she started talking about how her dad has been maltreating her mom.
The woman held her closely, seeing all this, my eyes filled with tears I walked quietly to my room with so many questions running through my mind.... What could she have done wrong to deserve such brutality? Is this what they meant by this quote "marriage is not a bed of rose"? I kept asking myself......
So then, how do we fight this? What can we do to stop this from happening in our society?. Don't wait until it's your mum, or your sister, or niece or friend wearing a black eye and nursing swollen lips before this madness affects you. Do you have to join a society to fight this? Hell no, you can fight it in your own little environment.
Women are gems, women are queens, women are priceless. Punching a woman to feel like John Cena doesn't make you more or less of a man. It is not the answer. It is not a Viagra. It only confirms that you're weak and fickle in your mind.
The true man is the man that protects and respects his woman.
PS: Make the world a Sane place!
Thanks for reading, I remain your girl .
