My family had plenty of family traditions when I was growing up. Now that I have started my own family, we are creating our own family traditions. Going to the pumpkin patch in October seems to be one that will live on for as long as the little's are interested. Last year, and the year before we went to Minnetonka Orchards. I wrote about our first trip there here.
This year we decided to try out a different spot, called Waldoch Farms. We met another couple with kids the same age as ours there, about a half hour drive from our house. I have to say, I liked it more than Minnetonka Orchards. There was a free carriage ride out to the pick your own pumpkin patch. My daughter picked out her own little one, and I got one with a nice face to carve with.

After the ride back, the kids had lots of options to choose from...there was a big slide, the grain train ride, little bikes on a course, and other fun activities for kids.
Then of course they had some animals which the kids were giddy about. A few pigs, some horses, goats, peacocks, geese, and ducks. My little man was giggling so hard at the pygmy goats, it was the cutest thing I've seen in a while.
It's nice to get out with some friends who also have kids. The transformation from being just a couple, to a couple with kids isn't the easiest one. But these traditions make it easier and all worth while.
Do you have any family traditions you'd like to share?
Thanks for reading and Steem on!
