Today I want to show you my fashion collection I have made/designed so far. I actually made more than what I am going to show you, but the ones I don't show I just don't have them anymore. Some designs I have made a post about which I will show you later. Most of them I have made in the past when I was studying fashion. I went to Fashion school in 2001 and graduated in 2005. I really loved this study and I had a lot of fun going to fashion school. I am not sure if I ever skipped any class.
So this is an outfit made of old jeans. The assignment was to make something "artistic". I collected my father's old jeans and cut them in very small pieces and sewed them together. The students asked me why I want to do so much work :-D, as most of them make something easy and fast.
This is a mermaid inspired dress made of real silk. As a Fashion student, you have to pay for all the materials yourself. Because I like to work with good material, I worked a lot at an Indonesian restaurant and with that money I could pay for the materials, good quality fabric! The assignment was to make a dress with an animal inspired but it was not allowed to stitch tidy, so it had to look messy. Well...That was nothing for me, so I didn't listen to the teacher. I really love the bright colours!
This is a super sexy dress! My model who is wearing it on this picture said she looks like a prostitute :-p. At that time I disagreed. I was so obsessed with Donatella Versace's collection that are also very sexy. Now I see what she means...it is way too sexy! The fabric I used is the same fabric people would use for wedding dresses. This is in colour red. The fabric was very expensive, but I worked hard to be able to buy this kind of fabric. The roses are HANDMADE by me. It took me a month to make around 150 roses! I worked day and night to be able to finish on time since we had a deadline for the fashion show!
This dress looks so weird! The teacher had some pictures of dresses on the table and I wasn't on time to choose which one I want, so I got to choose one of the last pictures. So I chose this one. We had to make something similar to the picture we got from the teacher, but with different fabric/material. This material is made of metal. The colour is greenish/peach as the colour changes. For the lining I chose a peachy silk lining. I am not happy with this design because it is not me, but I do like the combination of fabric that I chose.
This is a set of trousers and blazer. The assignment was to make trousers with a matching blazer and we had to choose a classmate or friend/family member as our model. The material is made of high quality satin with dragons on it. It is a typical Chinese fabric. Making clothes at fashion school means we need to stitch as precisely and as straight as possible. So it's not just picking out fabric and just stitch. We are judged by how clean we stitch and the fitting of the clothes. I got a very high score for this outfit because the outfit was really fitting my model very good.
I am not sure what the assignment was here but I made a rectangular bra inspired by Madonna :-D
This blazer I made for myself when it was summer. I really love the button. I made it quite good but I made it too tight....I wasn't so smart back then :-).
It was graduation time, Summer 2005!!! We had the assignment to make our own collection based/inspired by a designer without copying. Our collection need to fit in the designer's collection and we had to choose our own model. My model was also a fashion student and her name is Anouk. She is very tall, 180 cm I think. She had a small waist but when I measured I found out that she has very wide hips. Not that it is a bad thing, but when making patterns for someone with a very small torso, waist and larger hips combination, it can be very challenging. But I luckily succeeded to change the patterns according to her body type. I chose Valentino as my inspiration
The first outfit is a dress made of black satin and black stretchy lace. This is not the same satin like pyjama's but the satin they use for gown and wedding dresses. It wasn't easy to find these two fabric. This is a very sexy dress, again! I like the details at the end of the sleeves. I bought also a set of Bollywood jewellery to make the look complete. I wasn't good in doing her make up, so she did it herself. This dress is my favourite outfit of everything I have made so far. I wanted to make the pictures in a nice garden/park but my model had her internship and said she was sick....So what could I do?
The second outfit is a blouse in combination with trousers. The blouse is made of 100% real silk. The blouse exists of two sorts of silk, shiny and matt silk. It has to do with the progress that makes silk shiny. I love the purple buttons that I chose for the blouse.
The third outfit is coat made of emerald satin duchesse , also high quality satin with a fake fur collar. It just reminds me of the Wizard of Oz and the Emerald city.
This is a winter coat I made 4 years ago. It is made of wool and the details made of faux crocodile leather with glitters. Working with (faux) leather can be very challenging because you can only stitch one time otherwise you will perforate the material. I love this coat but I have to tell you, if you wear this coat, people will stare at you :-(. Of course in a positive way but it is for sure eye catching!
This is a maxi dress with a Steemit printed mosaic belt. I bought this fabric for ONLY 7 euros and it looks to me like an Emilio Pucci dress. If you like to know what kind of clothes Emilio Pucci is making, I can show you here:
An Emilio Pucci dress can cost already like 800-1000 euros! Mine has cost me 7 euros :-D.
Here you see a bomber jacketI made for myself. It is made of faux leather and checked fabric.
These are trousers that I made with beadwork. The beading work took me more than 10 hours!
The last is this Sherlock Holmes cape coat. This is perfect for Autumn and I really wore this last Autumn.
All of my designs are custom made, so all are made from scratch, starting by making patterns. If I look at all the designs I see how much work I did creating these outfits. The most important thing is that I made all these with passion.
