Here come a bunch of brand new photos - I'm putting the birds first for Hive account@melinda010100's Feathered Friday challenge. Melinda says she is happy to see bird photos any day of the week, not just on Friday, so I'm getting in early to avoid the rush!
Above: Female Mallard duck. I always try to get low for these shots. Lower than this would be much better but my knees didn't want to cooperate.
Canada Goose in the park. Again I was trying to get low. You want to get down and make eye-contact with the bird. I think the angle of this shot is better than the first one.
A Glaucous-winged gull on a log near the beach.
A Cormorant basking in the sun.
A pair of mule deer shot through the car window on the way to photograph birds... (Cathy was driving!)
A Sea Otter came up for a breath and took a look around...
...then disappeared beneath the waves with a flick of its tail.
Here's a wider view of Oak Bay where I photographed the seagull, cormorant, and sea otter. I hope you enjoyed this little photo essay. All photos were taken by me, Hive account@keithboone. Please click for a closer view and thanks for visiting!
