Rose-breasted grosbeaks have a very large triangular bill.
They are monogamous and mate for life. The males have a colorful red breast, but the females are striped and brown.
They eat seeds, fruits, and insects and often stop by for a bite of grape jelly.
I seem to have a few pairs who nest nearby, and now with the fledlings out of the nests there has been a population explosion of these lovely birds at my feeders.
