St.Petersburg is an important port, but how much it is a sea city? well, not really ...
it is a sea city in the same way, as the Finnish Bay (a part of the Baltic sea) is the sea... a part of the World Ocean, heh
But we do have gulls here, a lot!
They compete with ducks on the pond for the bread they throw ... and often they oversee local garbage dumps in search of edibles. I often find their feathers in the streets. When last summer I needed special "feather" feathers to make calligraphy pens out of them, I went for a walk in the park, and easily found a couple on the next day!
Они конкурируют с утками на пруду за кидаемый им хлеб... и частенько курируют местные помойки в поисках съестного. Я часто нахожу их перья на улицах. КОгда прошлым летом мне понадобились специальные "маховые" перья, чтобы изготовить из них пишущие перья для каллиграфии, я пошел гулять в парк, и без труда нашел парочку в тот же день!
It’s good that we don’t have as many gulls as in Helsinki. There it’s just a disaster, as people state!
