You don't have to be told that you were brought up by a feminist to understand how feminist head works. Your parents do not have to point out that 'this is the feminism way’. Equality between the sexes is the basic ideology of feminism that should start at home. In this article I will point out some ‘feminism’ act at home to understand whether does your parent brought you up the feminism approach.
** House chores has nothing to do with gender**
If you were raised by a feminist, house chores will not attached to your gender. If you are a boy, washing dishes and helping in cooking will be a norm. If you are a girl, throwing garbage and gardening would be the list in your chores too.
** You can play with ‘boys and girls toys’**
There will be no limit for toys selection if you were raised by a feminist. A girl can have all types of toys she wants be it Barbie dolls to soldier toys. Being raised by a feminist meant that your imagination wasn't restricted to the traditionally feminine.
** Opinions are valued**
Opinions are not shut even it does not make any sense. Speaking up for your right will be thought since early days not only for ‘likeable’ opinions, but also in reverse.
** You can be anything when you grow up**
If you were told that you can be anyone when you grow up, you were raised by a feminist. You can be an engineer or a makeup artist it will depend on your choice. A feminist won’t restrict choices by gender majority and believe in what you wanted to be.
** Let you cry**
Non-feminist parents will often stop a boy from crying saying that is what only girls do. Restricting to display emotion is never a good approach that can lead to depression at early age. A feminist parents will say it is OK to show your emotions be it in public.
