Caffè Nero Festive Cup
TOGETHERNESS AND FAMILY, YET SLIGHTLY WOKE
Caffè Nero's festive cup is out!
I really like Caffè Nero. I can't make up my mind which I prefer; Costa or Nero, when it comes to chain coffee shops. Their coffee is good and they have a high standard for sourcing. I also love the colour scheme of their branding. I like the shades of blue and browns. Very organic looking.
Their festive cup, much like others I've seen, has a simple design. This year they've gone for what looks like a family scene. There are people indoors in what looks like a hall, or a large lounge. Some are sitting in front of a fireplace with a cup of tea/coffee/soup. That guy is me for real :)
There are people arriving with presents, there's a Christmas tree and people of all ages hanging around dressed for the cold weather. Three of the people are singing from a book, what I assume are Christmas carols, with on of them wearing a Santa hat. A dog is helping to put up decorations. It looks as though both the dog and human are barking. Or, perhaps, the human is singing and dancing. Who knows. All the dogs there are being helpful - if not helping with the decorations, they're carrying a bag. There is a black cat just sitting there by the fire not doing anything at all. I think that's a very cat-like thing to do 😂
As is normal these days, there's very minimal to no religious connotation in the design. The only traditionally Christmasy elements here are the tree and star, the reef on the door and the presents. Everything else seems to focus on togetherness, family and fun.
Some Christians may not be too pleased with the way things are going when it comes to the depiction of Christmas, but I think it represents the general way things are in the country. People are not as religious as in the olden days. Some may even thing this design is a little too "woke", with this being England and all. If you zoom in, and you're familiar with that term, you will know what I mean.
Peace & Love,
Adé
