My Food Flingin’ Family, what is happening? Sorry I missed you all last week but I’m coming back into the coolest kitchen on the Blockchain with appreciation for being appreciated. Does that make sense??? If it doesn’t then just read it out loud 10 times, then write it out 3 times backwards and then take out every other letter and that should flat iron things out. Now back to this food flingin’ thing... What better way to show someone you appreciate what they do than with some tasty Food Coma inducing food, right?!? You know the best way to a man’s heart is ~~little below~~ through his stomach. Um wait, now does that work for showing appreciation for employees of a company also?? Food??

I am ~~standing~~ ~~sitting~~ ~~laying down~~ ... ok I’m HERE to show you that is does work. Get your bibs ready because your gonna be droolin’!! You might even want to slide back from your computer desk or slide you laptop out from under the drool drop zone. If your on a phone, don’t lay on your back this could result in drowning in your own drool. If not that extreme, then you would be making some pretty nasty gurgling sounds when you are trying to say how amazingly delicious that food looks. Now that you are prepped and ready I will continue where I left off... um wait where did I leave off?? AH-HA A company showing appreciation to their employees with... FOOD. The company I work for seems to know exactly how to express their appreciation for all the hard work we employees put in week after week, month after month...

With Food

So every year we have an employee appreciation day. I know it sounds a little corney... (dah ha ha) but how many companies do this? I honestly think not enough. They can show their appreciation for your hard work with a raise, or bonus. Which almost seems like bribery but hey we all like a little extra cash so we will take it no questions asked. Yet there is something about having a whole day full of events and great food that can really show employees that a company really and honestly does appreciate all that the employees do for the company. I hope you followed my earlier instructions because the time has come.

The Q

While we all are sitting in the monthly company Safety Meeting this Van and trailer pull up in the parking lot. I can just barely catch what is going on out the window. Hmm weird?? Being that I got voted in as Secretary of the Safety Committee I have to sit upfront and take notes amongst other things. Yippy for me. Then I start to catch a slight Smokey smell drifting into the conference room.... NO KIDDING!! A mobile Wood Fired BBQ is flaming outside. On the side of the van it just says, “The Q” BBQ that is!! This dude knows how to get our bellies rumbling through that delicious Smokey smell that is somehow sneaking through little cracks to fill the room. After glancing outside and seeing the meat piling up I had to get out there and take a few photos. So casually get up and act like I am using restroom.
Classic yet predictable move.

I get back inside after my “Potty break” and look at the clock... we need to wrap this Safety Meeting up soon!! My hunger just kicked into high gear after feasting my eyes on what is on that grill. I know it isn’t done yet but I just can’t wait much longer. No, we aren’t just eating meat you silly food flingin’ food lovers. Let me take you down the line of food with a GIF.

Pfhew!! Let’s take a little break shall we. I don’t want you all getting dehydrated due to the amount of drool. So head on over and get you a good drink of water to refill that drool tank. Not only do these dishes look amazing the presentation is spot on to. The wood planks are just the perfect touch with the bamboo disposable plates. Alright I hope you are hydrated and ready to go. CARNIVORES!!!!

DISH UP

After one plate I just couldn’t resist piling on another full plate. Everything and I mean everything went together so well. I wanted to just devour this plate of goodness but I held back and savored the flavors. Wow!! This is a lunch I could have everyday!!! I was considering a 3rd plate but I caught some action out of the corner of my eye in the hallway.

ICE CREAM

Over a dozen different flavors and a gallon of each. Who is gonna eat all this ice cream?? I take it there is going to be some left overs. Lol Wait, don’t forget to load up with toppings good grief, things are getting crazy in this place.

I’m not a huge “sweets” person but I couldn’t help but get me a bowl. I chose to get some Strawberry Cheesecake as a base and add some Oregon Blackberry on the top. Some things are best just left by themselves, so I didn’t feel the need to add a bunch of toppings.

OMG

I am so full, that Ice Cream put me over the edge!! I sure am glad I don’t have to go climb any poles right now. Instead we get to chill out as gifts and prizes are given out to Outstanding Employees and Recognizing years of service. I came in 3rd place for employee of the year, I feel pretty good about that knowing that I was recognized for my hard work and what I do on a day to day basis. This is the first year they have done this and nobody had a clue it was going on. Pretty cool.

We all received an Employee Appreciation Gift, which we got to choose from 3 items. I chose the Bluetooth Speak/charger, but there was an Ice Chest and some Bluetooth Headphones also.

I am sure glad we had some time to let our stomachs settle because it was time to have a little fun. In the past we have cleared out the warehouse and had a huge game of Laser tag, a video game trailer full of classic games, and carnival style games along with other activities. This time we were all divided up into teams and we hit the local bowling alley. It looked kind of funny seeing bucket trucks lined up outside the bowling alley.

Seeing everyone in the company with full bellies bowling, smiling, laughing and having a great time made me realize how truly blessed I am to work for a company like this. We all had a killer time and some friendly competition never hurt no one. Except for Kiss the Ring Bobby Bling, he took a pretty good fall but kept on going. I bet he was a little sore the next day.

After a few hours of bowling we were all instructed to kept track of our team and individual scores and we headed back to the shop. Unfortunately I didn’t get to see who won what prizes because I had to run up into the mountains and actually work a little bit. Dang it, I don’t feel appreciated anymore :wink:wink. All jokes aside this sort of employee appreciation day goes a long ways. Everyone at work has great attitudes, stay motivated and we all get along with each other. Imagine that!! No bickering, whining, or complaining??? Well non that I see anyway. imagine there aren’t many places where you can go Bowling and get paid without the fear of getting fired??

Food truly can be used to show appreciation for someone and their hard work. Thanks for stickin’ around and drooling with me on this Food Fight Friday. Now Get into that Food Fight Friday Area and let’s get crazy!!!
