The hubby was up early and asked Mr. B to help him move the cement mixer, truck, and the cow car to safer spots. He then checked the drainage systems and everything else. We don't want things to be flying when the gust gets even stronger. According to weather bulletins, we are at signal number 3. The wind was already blasting at 6 am, even without rain.
A flock of large black birds (locally called Martines. They look like crows, but can mimic speech) was singing (more like squawking) loudly as they moved from one tree to another, which made me wonder if they were trying to tell us something. I quickly dismissed that thought. They must be thrilled to be alive and flying on a new day.
After the yard inspection, I contacted my family to check how things were in their locations. No rain and it's still quiet, they said. Good. Good. Everyone is hoping Uwan will be gentle when it passes. My best friend likewise reached out to me, asking if we were okay. We don't always talk (she's often busy), but we do say hello to each other from time to time.
Anyway, the rain came around 9 am. It got heavier around lunchtime, and it's still pouring now. As usual, the emergency alert from the disaster coordinating council came a few times during the day. Advising people in low-lying areas to evacuate before the expected storm surge.
Sometime in the afternoon, I noticed Yongi sleeping unbothered on the couch, and I got swayed to join him for a short nap.
I dozed off pretty quickly, as if I hadn't had a good rest in the past nights (often woke up at 4 am). The snooze lasted longer than expected (2 hours, lol), but no regrets there. It turned out the body needed a recharge, and it got it.
Thankfully, there have been no significant changes in the wind strength, so we are hopeful it will remain that way throughout the night and until the storm leaves.
Well, it's snooze time again, so lights out from here (not literally, though, because we keep the lights on). Thank you and until tomorrow.
