Thursday, hurray🤩
Funny how plans change so suddenly. We were to stay in Cagayan (Region II) for a few more days, but that did not happen. Instead, we left the place in the morning, crossing various towns, beautiful fields, valleys, and finally the border, heading to the Province of Ifugao.
Why?
Just because of a weather forecast saying a typhoon named Paolo will enter PAR today.
Paolo will bring heavy rainfall over Northern and Central Luzon with torrential rains expected in Isabela and Cagayan.(src)
So yeah, we packed our bags and have been on the road since 10 am. We did have some stopovers for meals and sightseeing. We even enjoyed touching grass at the Kiangan Shrine, and then checked out the National Museum in the same area. I will share more about that visit when I am on the bigger screen (computer).
Anyway, we are now in Banaue, Ifugao, near one of the World's Heritage sites (rice terraces). We are spending the night here for some good rest. The LilGuy is obviously exhausted; he fell asleep right after a quick shower. I wouldn't deny that I am feeling the same.😅
He loves it when we take adventures, but like us, his energy has limits. It's natural, of course! The sudden change in destinations was truly not in our plans, but we had to prioritize our safety above the fun and adventure.
But yes, we hope to explore more of this beautiful place, should the weather be good tomorrow. If not, we might drive home before the storm intensifies. Although we hope the typhoon melts in the ocean and won't arrive here.🙏
Until then, we shall take tonight as an opportunity to recharge our almost drained batteries (body and gadgets) and not worry about the next day, for we do not have control over the weather.
