Ok, ok, wedding please? Pretty please? With candy canes and sugar cakes on top?? I SO want to see the upper crust going into conniptions knowing that these young men rule over them and they can't do a damn thing except accept the wedding! And oh how the families will be so happy seeing their daughters married off to such wonderful prospects! :-)

It had been a long, long time since a reigning Duke married. It had been even longer since a double wedding featuring the reigning Duke and his Viceroy brother. Nobody could ever remember if there were Tieflings in the mix.
It was generally understood that circumstances called for prodigious amounts of pomp. Sumptuous circumstance. Frills and furbelows. Cloth-of-gold, gemstones galore, and guests who were gilt by association. There would be balls to overflow the walls, feasts to fulfil every fantasy, and of course commemorative coins for everyone in the realm.
The Merrimines, Duke and Viceroy alike, went for extravagance as well. After all, they only planned to get married once. Therefore, it had to be memorable. Everything had to be perfect, so that she would stay with him.
They were born holding hands, and so waited at the altar for the first chords and choruses to welcome the paired brides. Vindication, smug because he was allowed to look at them entering the temple, smiled as he caught the first glimpses of the brides.
A Human and a Tiefling wait at the altar, just about ready to explode from anxiety. A Tiefling and a Human to match them, wait at the threshold while servants sort out their skirts. There are flowers. Pearls. Jewellery and glitter on every available space.
Here, in this realm, a bride is meant to wear her worth on her wedding day. For these ladies, their train-o-coin is extensive, and largely gemstones. It is also, according to the grooms, not a fraction of their worth in their hearts.
Even in high society, the pace of the bride towards the groom is an omen of how eager they are to marry, and how long the marriage will be happy.
For this bridal procession, the musicians had to break out the drum kit.
Brides met grooms in a flurry of petticoats, veils, and sparkling extravagance. It may have been a breach of protocol for the grooms to spin their respective brides around in an exuberant embrace, but nobody was going to complain.
They applauded. Uproariously.
Vows and ceremony were relatively staid. More than one person muttered At last, when the rings finally adorned the respective body parts and the unions were sealed with kisses.
The Duke and Duchess Merrimine took their bows before the Viceroy and Vicerene. It may not ever be a completely happily ever after, because there would always be someone complaining about "devils behind the crown", but it was the first day of a good start.
