It was extremely hot on this expedition. The human's suit was not cooling well. Much to their confusion and fear, the human overheated and collapsed. They thought humans sweat to cool off. This one didn't. That difference almost caused things to be dire. Medical saved them, and they admitted a genetic disorder making sweating nearly impossible. -- Anon Guest
[AN: Thanks for the half-hour wiki walk, OP]
They had become so accustomed to the noise from Human Ru's cooling system that they almost didn't notice when it stopped. The fact that Companion Tyk did may have saved her life.
"Ru? Is all well?" Tyk asked, already rising from his work to his feet.
Soft cursing in several tongues. "Livesuit flaw. The fans just blew. I'm gonna need to get... back... t'..." She had been staggering towards the lander as she spoke, but her limbs trembled as her words slowed. Then Ru faceplanted, alarmingly, on the ground.
That got everyone's attention.
They rushed from their work to rush Ru into the lander and the emergency med closet, where a combination of automated processes returned her temperature to normal.
Ru woke to a flock of nervous Avians watching from their perches, and Companion Tyk on the perch right next to her. "This is not normal," he said. "Even for Humans."
"It's not something I let out a lot. I have a disorder that stops me from sweating. Usually, the cooling system has me set, but... My fault for cheaping out on the parts."
"Cheaping out on your medical care," chided Tyk. "We shall get you full treatment on returning to mother ship. In the meantime, Mechanic D'lis will do what they can for you suit."
"Thanks," was all that Ru could think of to say.
