The entire species' culture was that of raiders and conquers. The humans challenged their champions... to a dance-battle?? -- Anon Guest
The cool thing about warrior cultures is that they have honour codes. Once you know the honour code, you're halfway towards gaining an understanding. Understanding is one of the keys to friendship and peace.
Humans will also pack-bond with ANYTHING.
When these two factors join, you get interesting encounters. Such as the confrontation on DF9405YJ-5 between the Humans and the Dolravyn. They had a code of honour that involved champions facing each other in tests of skill. The duels in that manner could get interesting because different species have different tests of skills.
Human Gaz put on some loud music and started Electro Jazz dancing. Which is a sight to behold, to say the least of it. Smooth, boneless movement that seemed to switch without telegraphing what the dancer was going to do next. Many of them seemingly impossible to anyone seeing what normal movement looked like beforehand. Ze could move as if hir bones were made of rubber.
Dolravyn Wer was instantly disturbed by the display, trying to puzzle out the point of it. It took her a couple of minutes to realise that this was dancing. A display of music and motion in one cultural bundle.
She waited for Gaz to complete hir display, and broadcast music of her own. Showing difficult and disturbing movements in rhythm to the music. Which resulted in Gaz showing hir teeth and slapping hir hands together. Then Gaz took hir turn at another display.
Four turns each, and the dances began to blend.
It was difficult to tell exactly when they started to dance together, but that was how the peace between them began.
