1999 comedy American Pie is nowadays best known as a film that led to word "milf" being entered in global vocabularies. Directed and produced by Paul and Chris Weitz, it was originally an attempt to recreate raunchy teen-oriented sex comedies of the 1980s. Rather simple plot deals with group of high school students desperate to lose virginity before going to college. The script for American Pie isn’t particularly deep, and the quality of humour is at times rather low, but young and diverse cast delivers the goods in form of couple of interesting scenes. The best asset of American Pie is the right tempo, allowing for all good material to function within the framework of 90 minutes.
