Three years after starring in Lee Me In, 2010 remake of Swedish cult horror film Let the Right One In, Chloe Grace Moretz streed in Carrie, another remake of cult horror film. She plays Carrie White, 18-year old high school student in a small town, whose life is torn between abuse by her ultra-religious mother Margaret (played by Julianne Moore) and cruel bullying by her schoolmates. Carrie, however, possesses telekinetic ability who would ultimately use to exact bloody vengeance at the high school prom after a cruel prank. Directed by Kimberly Pierce, new Carrie doesn't add anything to plot and characters of Stephen King's famous novel, and the inevitable comparisons with 1976 Brian De Palma's version show that the new film suffers from predictability, cliches, tighter censorship and poor casting, with Moretz, despite being closer in age to her character, less convincing than 26-year old Sissy Spacek four decades ago.
