The Devil Rides Out (1968)
Directed by Terence Fisher. Starring Christopher Lee, Leon Greene, Charles Gray, Nike Arrighi, Patrick Mower, Sarah Lawson, Paul Eddington, Rosalyn Landor, and Russell Waters.
Since their friend passed away Nicholas and Rex have taken great interest in his son, looking out for him like a pair of uncles and later friends, but it appears Simon has gotten himself mixed up with the occult. Nicholas and Rex manage to save Simon and another fledgling member a devil worshipping cult, right as Satan himself rocks up.
But that’s not the end of things as cult leader Mocata has a psychic link to Simon and his fellow escapee, and he’ll stop at nothing to bring them back into the fold.
Christopher Lee, who appeared in a rare heroic lead as Nicholas, often stated that The Devil Rides Out was his favourite of the productions he was involved in, including the various portrayals of Dracula which made him famous. He also said he’d have liked to see it remade with better effects…and starring himself as an older version of Nicholas.
