OK, so I can’t really comment on the Oscar nominations. I did not see most, if not all, of the nominees. 2016 was a rough year for movies for me, as far as new releases were concerned. I just did not have the money to attend the cinema very often. And now, being in northern British Columbia, or theatre here does not bring in A lot of films that might become Oscar contenders. They just can’t afford to not bring in the big tent pole films.
So rather than comments on those films which I’m still waiting to see, let’s have a look at some trailers and talk about them.
Love, Simon
Simon is a closeted, gay high school student who is having an anonymous relationship with a fellow student online. He doesn’t know who it is and his attempt to find out appears to be what this film is all about. It seems like a classic coming of age story and actually looks kind of good.
Traffik
An investigative journalist finds a phone in her purse and then hunted by a gang of human traffickers. Could be good, could be bad I can’t tell from this trailer.
