2 years ago, IMDb closed their forums, now you can bring them back.
This seems like a good time to share this with everyone. The Filmboards.com project was launched 2 years ago to this day with the goal of recreating the IMDb forums as closely as possible. There have been trials and tribulations since, including a legal battle with IMDb, but it have kept on and congratulations on what has been achieved.
Features include
- Nearly every old IMDb post has been restored, the largest archives online
- You can link your IMDb account to restore your IMDb post history
- The look and feel of the old boards
- Forum improvements added such as YouTube embedding, image posting, themes, polls, and much more
- An official add-on which puts the forums back inside IMDb, like they never left.
The add-on is the coolest feature. It takes only seconds to install, and once complete, you'll be able to view the restored forums in IMDb's own pages, right where they used to be. If enough people install it, it is a realistic possibility this community can be revived. If you can, help spread the word.
This add-on is available for both Chrome and Firefox, with Opera coming soon. (Only the Firefox version works on mobile devices. Chrome does not allow add-ons)
