Climate Change Ambassador
Ever since I saw What's Eating Gilbert Grape where Leo depicted the autistic brother who just couldn't help himself from climbing the water tower I was impressed. I think Leonardo is an actor of his generation and his work for the Revenant was not only timely but closely related to his work as Peace Ambassador for The United Nations on Climate Change.
National Geographic
This full length doc charts his own personal journey to understand Climate Change and as we're the same age (ish) I can relate to his understanding. I didn't get to interview Bill Clinton about it or have a seminal session with Al Gore, but perhaps I already knew those things when I was 21 !
MUST WATCH
A free film of this calibre is a must watch for anyone who feels like they could do with understanding more about climate change and the challenges we face. There's a great line of sync early on where Leo say's how cynical he is about our chances of changing behaviour and wonders if The UN knew his true feelings would they have still asked him ?
Right Up My Street
I've worked with The UN on a number of short films for UNEP and made an animated film with Sir David Attenborough for the Year of the Forest for UNEP (About the importance and value of living forests) , so it's quite personal to me. If anyone knows Leo or can get hold of him, I would like him to do a voice over for an animated film about the plight of the Oceans (if he ever joins Steem) which my animation studio http://www.shroomstudio.com would like to make.
JUST WATCH IT
If you do get a chance to watch it, I'd like to know what you think of it !
