You may recall that I routinely say that Adam Sandler movies are criticised to the moon and back for being unoriginal and he cries all the way to the bank because every single one of his bad films make tens of millions of dollars? Well this is another one of those situations because him and Drew have made essentially the same movie 4 times.
As per the usual, Adam Sandler plays a nice guy who everyone seems to like and basically is a virtuous dude who is successful at something that would normally not make anyone any money in real life - oh and his name is Robbie Hart and he is of course, a wedding singer.
Everything is going great for Robbie until his own wedding day comes and his fiance stands him up and this sends him into a hilarious spiral of depression that turns his wedding reception performances, that were previously funny and loved by everyone, into a bit of nightmare that gets him in trouble.
But then he meets Julia (Drew Barrymore) and they have instant chemistry but there is just one problem: She is engaged to a super awesome guy that Robbie can't compete with at all
i'm just kidding, Glenn is horrible, and that was intentional
I'm not spoiling by saying that Julia and Robbie eventually get together but there are some funny twists and turns along the way including a cameo by one of my favorite 80's icons (extra points for knowing who it is)
This is another one of those movies that has special appeal if you were alive and old enough to remember the 80's because there are tons of funny references inside. This movie isn't different. LIke I said Barrymore and Sandler would go on to make essentially clones of this movie another 3 times and make tons of money on each of them.
