This means most americans either dont know how to save or are unable to do so because of various circumstances. Regardless of your circumstances you should still be able to find a way to save a little more and build a emergency fund or take that vacation you've been needing. Saving money is a personal choice that requires sacrifice initially to obtain a favorable outcome so, this means you must take a look at your life and possibly make some tough choices.
Limits are your friend
I know it might sound like a no brainer but many folks that don't have savings are dealing with limitation problems. There are always things in our lives that we can cut out, and if you intend on saving some money you need to identify these non essential expenses. Some folks will find it easy to cut back by simply changing their eating or entertainment habits. For others it will take a bit more work such as saving tax returns or calculating purchases as hours worked and not dollars spent. There are many things that one could limit in your life but only you can truly know which ones work for you.
Debt is your enemy
Those credit cards, student loans and other personal debt that you may have is one of the biggest money drains in your life. Because of the nature of interest rates many debtee's will find themselves paying 150% or more over the lifetime of the debt, especially if you are only paying the minimum balance or missing payments totally. Choosing to pay off your Debts quickly will not only save you from the burden of interest but it will also allow you to have credit free for an emergency. Eliminating debts also makes it so that your credit score goes up which means you will have more capital at your disposal for big purchases. If you dont pay off your ebt then you will end up spending many times what you initialy planned. Debt slavery is rampant in America and the only way out is to pay up.
Stop drinking for 1 year
Did you know that the average American spends over $1,000 on beey each year? Thats right a large part of your budget oes to unneccessary things that could be cut totally out. Alcohol is fun and all but if you are serious about building a savings then this is the first habit that must be curved. Think about it $20 a week on Booze adds up to $1,020 a year and if your going to the club its even more! Cutting back on the alcohol consumption doesn't mean that you have to cut out social activity, you simply have to find activities that are free or spend time with your pals at home.
Make it count
Becoming financially free is a long journey that tarts with the choice to change. Of all the choices youll make on this financial adventure the first one will be the easiest. If you are serious about becoming financially free then it is 100% up to you to make the hard choices and do what needs to be done to gain stability in your life. Although a 9-5 will never make you rich it could atleast make you comfortable with the right strategy.
