When someone new to astrology understand the importance of the 2nd, 6th, and 11th houses in predicting financial success during dasha periods will be very simple but in reality vedic astrology is very very complex and it takes year of study as well as practice to be perfect.
Its not a one line explanation, it needs time and deep understanding and interpretation of the planets that tries to tell us thru their placements and combinations.
In layman's terms of astrology the 2nd house in a horoscope signify wealth of the native, the 6th house signify other’s wealth ( as 6th is 12th house of 7th house which is the other person ) and 11th house signify wish fulfillment.
To understand financial success during dasha periods one need to learn many more aspects / dictums of vedic astrology. It is not straightforward shastra that the mahadasha of 2,6 and 11th house will always give financial success to everyone having such conditions.

To learn and understand financial success of a person, one need to learn and understand if there is promise of financial success in his horoscope or not. If it is YES then only one should proceed to see the time of delivery of that event.
Finance promise in the house level of the horoscope also not enough to guarantee its success. It’s the time of delivery of the event on correct PERIOD, will guarantee its success.
Suppose there is financial promise in a horoscope and the time of delivery of that event is in the childhood stage or in the very old age stage, then the promise will go in vain as during childhood and olden age a person is dependent.
A child is dependent on his / her parents and an old person is dependent on his children or relatives.
In both the cases they can not work to earn money and so the activated mahadasha period of the 2, 6 and 11th house will not give them finance but some other things / events in their life.
A person gets financial success only when there is financial promises in the horoscope as well as the activation period / time of delivery / mahadasha also fall in current youth period of the person when he can devote his full energy towards his goal to achieve the success.
I am not discussing about the sub and sub sub period of mahadasha, transit and some more parameters, as for someone new to astrology will become much more difficult to understand and thus get confused.
This subject itself is a very huge one and with through dedication of learning as well as practice one can definitely learn and understand the subject well.
