According to the forecast, it's going to be more or less overcast next week. I took the opportunity to visit Myllysaari, a chain of small islands in Lake Vesijärvi interconnected by bridges. The Lahti Yacht Club buildings are there. You'll see in them in the photos. There is also a 360 degree video panorama. It's been stabilized using YouTube editing tools.

A view from the parking lot. This is where it begins.

The first bridge. It connects the first island of the chain to the mainland.

It is barely wide enough for a car. For maintenance vehicles only.

Boats on the first island. The harbour and Sibelius Hall are on the opposite side of the lake.

The second and the third bridge

The harbour is straight head. The district of Niemi on the left.

The third bridge

That is a floating sauna. It is for rent in the summer. It's got an outboard motor. It can be driven wherever the customer wants. You can have a sauna party and swim.

That is the main building. There is a restaurant in it open to the public in the summer.

A history of Myllysaari. Magnify to read the text (in Finnish). It was owned by a farm that had a windmill built on it. In 1910, Lahti Yacht Club bought it. The water surface was lowered by ovet 3 metres when the channel between Lake Päijänne and Lake Vesijärvi was built in 1871. Iron age (600-800) objects were discovered when the main building of the yacht club was built in 1910.

A view to the north. The island in the center is Enonsaari about 5 km from Myllysaari. There is a ferry connection to it from the harbour.

Mukkula Manor is on the other side in the west.

When I took that picture the temperature was about -15 C.

That property is at a prime location.

That ski trail leads to Messilä about 5 km to the west. There are a few ski runs and lifts there, a restaurant and a camping area.

Some kids in PE class. Parking lot ahead. Time to leave. Brrr!
