The holidays equal poor weight management. This time my family and I walked to another supermarket a couple of kilometres from our home. This is my favourite route. Some photo opportunities were missed because of the lack of light by I hope the ones I took (and the one video I shot) are of interest to my followers.

You can see Lake Alasenjärvi in the distance.

This ski trail is maintained by the city. Because of the above-zero temperature it is quite soft now but skiable. The playground that I shot yesterday is the opposite way a couple of hundred meters away.

The playground.

We will turn to the left.

Fresh air is good for you.

Getting your butt off the couch is healthy.

Why is that tractor driving around the field with its plough up? It is compacting the snow with its tires. Come frost this field will become an outdoor skating area.

There used to be fields here.

We have cleared the clearing and will turn to the left.

All the properties in the west are at the lakefront.

A mixture of old and new. The view over the lake in the west is really nice particularly in the summer.

Towards the supermarket.

There it is!

Next to it, there is a municipal daycare centre.

The man whose disfigured face you're looking at is Simo Häyhä who served as a sniper in the Winter War 1939-1940 with 259 confirmed kills in about 100 days with an average of 6-8 hours of daylight. He got hit in the chin almost at the end.
