We are lucky! My neighbours and us are safe! I saw some strange smoke coming from the neighbours garage! I noticed it was bad black nasty smoke. It was coming from chimney and through the garage metal door! I knew right away that the garage was on fire! So I went to the neighbours front door and told them!
Had just got back from a trip to the other city where I was helping my Aunt fix up her house. Have been going back and forth for half a week for over a month. One time when I came back the local Inn had burned down to the ground, now this! May Aunt was kinda depressed, a touch suicidal but we were able to cheer her up some with company and fixing her house up. Lately a friend of mine died of suicide in quite a gross way. So I had all this weighing on my mind so the fire was sort of a shock!
The neighbour got to the fire in the garage but he make the mistake of opening the metal door and tried to put the fire out with an extinguisher. The air of the open door and extinguisher fed the flames. I saw there was only a small fire in the corner of the garage at first. Then within 3 minutes the whole garage was full in flames, like boom! It was freaky. I was scared for my house and the neighbours house. Luckily only the siding vaporized from the side of their house. Kids and pets got out. Someone I lived with phoned 9-11 right away.
The above photo is wear the gas meter was! Right beside the garage!! The town must have shut it down in time. I can't imagine what would have happened. I may have even died! I imagine if I didn't catch the neighbours garage fire when I did, thinking also what if it happened while we are sleeping. My life flashed before my eyes! I feel lucky, finding gratefulness for everything and spreading good cheer and understanding after such a shock! I want to hold people close and talk to them
I am really glad this small town has a fire department! They came here fairly soon and I am so glad they did!! The fire was so huge and hot you could feel it from across the street. There were quite a few booms and bangs coming from the garage. It was really freaky. So we all stood far away from the fire so the emergency personnel could work on it.
A whole people gathered around across the street. I just came from liquor store with beer. As soon as I knew the fire was under control and my house was safe I cracked a beer. The other neighbours had some beers with us. It was good to talk to people to help get through that moment. Now I am doing okay, I am surprised on how well I feel. I think it is gratefulness it wasn't worse and the realization that people could of died, even me.
I took some video clips of the smoke after. I didn't bother taking videos of the fire. That was not important to me at the time. The people I live with here did take a video or 2 so maybe I can share that later.
