Dear steemian adventure...
Fire is very important in everyday life, especially when in the forest. Many uses of fire when we adventure, one of the most important is to warm the body so as not to cold.
FIRE THEORY
Definition Fire is a rapid chemical (oxidation) reaction formed from 3 (three) elements: heat, air and fuel that generate or generate heat and light.
These three elements are very important when turning on the fire, especially for novice climbers.
CH4 + O2 + (x) hot ----> H2O + CO2 + (Y) hot "
Three elements of Fire.
- Oxygen
The oxygen source is from the air, where it takes at least about 15% of the volume of oxygen in the air to allow combustion. Normal air in our atmosphere contains 21% oxygen volume. There are some fuels that have enough oxygen content that can support the burning
- Heat
The heat source is required to reach the ignition temperature so that it can support the fire. Heat sources include: solar heat, hot surfaces, open flame, friction, exothermic chemical reactions, electrical energy, electric sparks, fire weld / cut, compressed gas
- Fuel
Fuel is anything that can support the burning. There are three forms of fuel, namely solid, liquid and gas. For solid and liquid bodies a preliminary heat is required to convert all or part of it, to a gas form in order to support the burning.
a) Solids
The burning solid fuel will leave the residue of ash or char after it has finished burning. For example: wood, coal, plastic, sugar, fat, paper, leather and others.
b) Liquid Items
Liquid fuels for example: gasoline, paint, kerosene, varnish, turpentine, lacquer, alcohol, olive oil, and others.
c) Gas Items
Gas fuel for example: natural gas, acetylene, propane, carbon monoxide, butane, and others.
Many techniques are used by survivors to turn on the fire. But they still use the concept of fire triangle or fire pyramid.
These three elements are very important you know, because one does not exist then the fire will be hard to burn and will produce a lot of smoke.
Good luck adventurous friends, learn and keep learning. Because in lighting a fire requires a lot of patience. The more often you do it, the easier it is when you make a fire. May be useful.
Thank you for seeing and reading, triumphantly.
