My third time fishing and third time catching a fish in sunny South Korea. I definitely have caught the fishing bug.
Now that I know that I love fishing, I bought some more fishing gear, check it out:
A medium-heavy baitcaster from NS, a Korea brand within my budget, with a decent Abu Garcia reel from my amazing wife
In the flat we've been renting for the past couple of months, we have an unused room with a walk in cupboard. We don't have much furniture, as we will only be staying for a year until our return to the UK. Therefore I have adopted the room as my own, and official dubbed it the "fishing room" :P
The walking cupboard with my new fishing gear
Also my father in law, donated some of his fishing kit left unused these past 15 years.
Wife's father's gear
So now fitted out, time to go fishing:
My third fish ever, a Large Mouth Bass
So happy with my catch. Clearly to serious anglers, it's a tiny specimen, but for me it was amazing. I love Bass fishing, as it's not static. You have to move around a lot, mix up baits, and it takes skill to handle the rod (I have a way to go yet on that last one).
I particularly like using the popper type lure. I love the sound it makes when you do it just right. For those who don't know, it's suppose to emulate the sound of a fish in distress. Bass seem to like an easy meal if one is near by, and this greedy bugger ended up at the end of my rod.
As always, fish returned quickly to the waters I caught them from.
