I went out yesterday on a nice cloudy day with no rain. I love that as I don't get as sunburned. I was hoping that the fish would be more active since the weather prevented all the fishermen from fishing in the past four days.
I decided to whip with a bigger black curly tail. I whipped for hours walking the coastline. Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
I was working my way back to my car and when I was reeling the line back to the shore the lure got with 10 feet of the ledge then bang a big hit and the fish when right out to sea taking line with it. I knew it was a Papio and the fight was on. Lucky for me I was using bigger gear. 12 pound main and 8 pound leader. After about 15 minutes the fish tired out an floated to the surface lying on its side. I brought it in and had dinner for a couple days, as it was a big Omilu.
I took the fish back to my car and called it a day.
