We started our striper fishing trip by launching at the Salisbury State Beach reservation boat launch. This launch is great because it is nice and close to our main fishing spot. Today I was joined by my good friend first mate Nate. In this shot you can see Nate acting as a dock line lol.
Today like most days we decide to hit the sand bar. We head over to the spot, find our ideal depth of water and throw down the anchor. Nate introduced me into fishing with clams this season. I throw a 3 oz. weight & a handful of clams on a circle hook and put it out about thirty yards from the boat.
It's not long before Nate hooks up on a schoolie sized striper.
I'm next up to catch a schoolie. Luckily this little guy didn't get to swallow the bait!
My biggest striper of the day was only 25". The bass put up a nice fight though! I had no idea how horrendous this picture came out before we threw the fish back.
Thanks for checking out my weekly fishing blog! Hopefully next week I have some monsters to show you. I should have a new post out sooner than normal as I will be going out monday & tuesday.
